We have recently been awarded a challenge grant from the prestigious Kresge Foundation for $900,000 if we raise $3 million of the remaining $5.8 campaign goal by June 2011. Your support now means more than ever as we make Kansas City a destination for dance. Donate now to help us reach our goal!
- Seven studios - nearly twice that of our current facility - with specialized floors for learning and rehearsing every type of dance.
- A studio that doubles as a 180-seat theater. You can enjoy informal performances, school concerts and choreographic showings. Your community group can also utilize this space.
- Ensuring your convenience and safety, 180 parking spaces adjacent to the building.
- You can glimpse behind the scenes - areas for administration, production, wardrobe/costume, physical therapy, storage, and artist locker rooms.
Choosing the Perfect Site: Union Station Power House
Designed by Union Station architect Jarvis Hunt in 1913 and constructed in 1914, the Power House represents an important era in Kansas City history at the turn of the previous century. The Power House supplied electricity to the Station, Post Office, Liberty Memorial and other buildings.
With your help we will return an abandoned building to creative life. Together we will restore a piece of the city’s past in a way that contributes to its future. The Bolender Center will play a crucial role in the redevelopment of Kansas City. It is a symbol of the resurgent Crossroads area and the culture that thrives here.

Operating Endowment
Along with construction, the capital campaign will provide a $7 million operating endowment to support the cost of running the Bolender Center.
In the fall of 2011, Kansas City Ballet makes its debut as a resident company at the new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. This extraordinary venue will allow KCB to increase performances, making it easier for you to fit KCB into your busy schedule. This new stage will allow us to continue attracting the highly talented dancers you have come to expect. Kansas City Ballet season ticket patrons and contributors will receive top priority seating in this new world-class theater.
