Evening with Jacques d’Amboise, Author of I Was a Dancer

In this special event sponsored by Kansas City Ballet and Rainy Day Books, ballet legend Jacques d'Amboise shares the story of his life as told in his recently published memoir, I Was a Dancer.  Mr. d’Amboise will take us on his journey from a boy growing up in Washington Heights, a gang-ridden neighborhood on the edge of Harlem in Manhattan to his discovery by George Balanchine at age 15 to his appearance in such films as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Carousel to founding the National Dance Institute.

Admission Tickets are required for the public lecture. $35.00 plus Tax includes one hardcover copy of I Was a Dancer, one stamped admission ticket, and one guest ticket (if needed). There will also be ticketed reception before the lecture from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with the author which includes an autographed copy of  I Was a Dancer, wine, hors d’oeuvres and reserved seating for the lecture.
